**__Kurdish oil agreement trought Iraqi oil company....



The Kurdistan Regional Government (KRG) has agreed to export 550,000 barrels per day (bpd) through the Iraqi state oil company SOMO as of next year, in return for its original monthly budget of roughly $1 billion which has been withheld by Baghdad since February.

The deal, if implemented, is the first sign of improving relations between Baghdad and Erbil, which deteriorated when Iraq froze the budget payments early this year.

According to their agreement, Erbil will boost Iraq’s total oil production by 550,000 bpd to 3.6 million bpd, and the Iraqi government will resume the monthly budget payments.



Iraq’s oil production has fluctuated because of logistical restrictions and political mayhem. According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), production dropped to 3.1 million bpd from 3.6 million bpd in February.

Ironically, it was only two days ago that I had written the KRG about Genel Energy and Mr. Tony Hayward and now we see him issue this news press!!

Let me explain the four indirect messages that Mr. Hayward is trying to relay/convey to the KRG:

1- He is telling the KRG that “don’t worry” about the fact we have spent over $2 Billion of investor’s money in two years and we have nothing to show for it and we are in the process of spending another $500 Million of the newly issued unsecured corporate bond;

2- He is advertising himself and his company to possibly be sold! And with his stock being down 50% already, and have very hefty debt, no one will get near this company and buy them;

Mr. Hayward knows very well that his company is way over valued and he is trying to justifies the lack of progress of his company as well as his company’s stock that is down 50% already. Genel Energy went public (means selling share of the company to the public- IPO) and collected $2.1 Billion in immediate cash. Not only this money is already gone, but Genel Energy has collected another $500 Million two weeks ago from investors, by way or selling unsecured bond to the public;

3- Mr. Hayward might be setting the ground for another bond issuance in the near future, which means taken on more debt and that is not healthy for any company to do especially when the company is not generating enough income to continue its operations without borrowing heavily from investors;

4- Mr. Hayward is buying himself a little more time and try to figure out how to get out of this dilemma he is in with his operation in Kurdistan.

SEOUL/ERBIL,— A group of lawmakers from Iraq and the autonomous region of Kurdistan say they will investigate a possible bribery case involving a Kurdistan oil minister.

The probe follows a series of articles by The Korea Times on alleged shady deals conducted between Korean firms and the Kurdistan government during the “energy diplomacy” of the former President Lee Myung-bak administration. The Times’ investigative series was in collaboration with Rep. Chun Soon-ok of the main opposition New Politics Alliance for Democracy (NPAD).

“The integrity committee, the financial watchdog and the Kurdistan Parliament will investigate the case alongside an ongoing investigation in Korea,” said Birzo Majeed, a member of the Gorran (Change) Movement of the Kurdistan Parliament, during an interview with Kurdish media NRT, Wednesday.



“The KRG (Kurdistan Regional Government) and its Natural Resources Minister Ashti Hawrami should respond as to whether the KRG received money sent by the Korea National Oil Corp. (KNOC),” he said. He also urged the minister to explain why he gave UI Energy money though an exploration project in the Bazian Block oil field was failed.

At the center of the case is $31.4 million of South Korean taxpayers’ money used in a project undertaken as part of the failed energy diplomacy of the Lee government.

Rep. Chun said the money, given as a “signature bonus,” disappeared after the KNOC sent it in 2008 to HSBC in London to an account given by the minister.

If inexperience civilians as soldiers that could be displaced citizen from other countries.....question to Britain -USA mastermind militaries in gambling to obtain territories and oil fields.....

Their war tactics are base on move named; "enemy of the gates" were they send militaries without weapons and die in action...
