Chief of Defence, General Peter Bartram, has this week been visiting Ireland. The purpose of the visit was the exchange of experience with emphasis on United Nations operations, as both Ireland and Denmark participating in UN operations in Africa. Not least makes both countries much to educate their own and other nations' soldiers for UN service.
- Ireland is the only nation in the world, since the organization's creation constantly - without a single day's absence - have participated in UN missions. The visit has helped to form the basis for discussions, creating experiences and not least to strengthen relationships with a possible future partner, says General Peter Bartram.
During the visit, the Chief of Defense, among others visited the Irish Defence Training Center that offers various courses internationally.

At the center trained Irish and international officers and civilians to carry out tasks in UN operations around the world. The defense chief has the visit received briefings on the Irish defense strategy, policy and operations.
